JOBSUMMARY
Application Development Team Lead

works extensively with their project team, business stakeholders and technical staff to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the technical delivery of application projects through the Development lifecycle from estimation and planning, through to execution and transfer to sustainment.
Coaches the application development team with regards to development best practices and other department standards
Leads the technical design and development of MBC applications through hybrid Agile project lifecycles.
Works on all aspects of the technology stack, front end UI/UX, backend APIs, databases and data access, or cloud infrastructure.
Works closely with other technology service areas (support, data, architecture & shared services) to deliver solutions.
Acts as knowledge lead for select MBC Core Applications, coding languages, frameworks, process, and tools.
Supports the management of project



team members


and



Architecture Services with application development and configuration management process standards.
Participates in the development of the overall project roadmap and ensures the successful and timely completion of assigned projects.
Anticipates, identifies, and resolves issues and problems by mobilizing the necessary resources and using appropriate escalation procedures.
Tracks and reports the application development team’s project progress against plans, both routinely and by exception to project manager.
Supports post project reviews to capture and communicate lessons learned for distribution within the team and to other teams.
Manages the development of high-quality code that satisfies customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability.
Oversees and performs code reviews and leads the use of collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes.
Supports the creation of QA Plans ensuring sufficient coverage against risks and errors.
Leads the collaboration with stakeholders (e.g. business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, team leads and end users) to understand functional and non-functional system requirements.
Qualifications
Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
8-10 years of relevant experience
High Proficiency in one or more frameworks and platforms (e.g. Lambda & Microservices and API Architecture, Spring MVC, Angular, Docker).
Significant experience with AWS services including Elastic Load Balance, Elastic Container Service/ Fargate, Elastic Container Registry, CloudWatch, Pipelines/Codebuild, Image Deployment, S3 required.
Significant experience with front end development languages and tools including HTML CSS and Webflow required.
Significant experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform or other) required. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
Ability to mentor and coach team members.
Ability to collaborate and share knowledge openly.
Strong problem solving / analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong communication skills including verbal and written skills.
Exercises judgment, tact and discretion when handling confidential information.
Certification required in one or more of the following:
Spring Professional Certification
Oracle Certificate for Professional Java SE
ITIL Foundation Certification
