Birla Carbon delivers uniform product quality and consistent experience worldwide and prioritize the development and well-being of our most valuable asset our people.</p><p><br /></p><p>Job Description</p><p><br /></p><p>As part of a 24/7/365 Petro Chemical manufacturing environment, you will work 12-hour continental shifts after the initial training period.</p><p><br /></p><p>Your job duties will include, but are not limited to:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Inspect, monitor and operate our boilers, air compressors, turbines, steam condensers, air dryers, turbo generators, fan pumps, and other relevant plant services equipment to meet the needs of our operations</li><li>Maintain the integrity of our plant services equipment by correcting and following up on all equipment failures in a timely manner</li><li>In conjunction with our (computerized) control systems, adjust various control parameters (e.g. temperature, pressure, flow rates, water levels) to ensure efficient operation of our plant services equipment</li><li>Complete all log entries, records and report accurately and on-time</li><li>Ensure we operate our plant services equipment in compliance with internal procedures, all applicable legislation, and consistent with our internal customer commitments to operations, engineering, and warehousing departments</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Engineer or their designate<br><br></li></ul><p>Wages and Benefits</p><p>Successful applicants will be paid $42.88 for 3rd class or $47.33 per hour for a 2nd class Engineer, for 40 hours of work per week. You will also be entitled to comprehensive insurance benefits (dental, disability, health care plan, vision, paramedic services, etc.), life insurance, RRSP contributions, TFSA, and employer sponsored Education Assistance, Annual Gym Membership, Employee Referral Program.</p><p><br /></p><p>Work Experience and Qualifications</p><p>The ideal candidate will bring experience in carbon black manufacturing, with a minimum of 3 years in the industry. A strong foundation in operating engineering equipment, excellent plant services engineering and process knowledge, and knowledge and experience with DCS control systems are essential, where experience with a 24/7 continuous process operation is an asset. Moreover, the successful candidate will have a keen understanding of carbon black chemical manufacturing processes and operations, enabling them to provide detailed technical knowledge and support to our dedicated team in providing low-carbon solutions.</p><p><br /></p><p>2nd or 3rd Class Operating Engineering designation is required.
