<p><p>I\'m working with a well-established, independent actuarial consultancy that is looking to hire a <b>Pensions Actuary.</b> The firm has a strong reputation for client service, low staff turnover, and a genuinely collaborative working culture.</p><p>This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys <b>hands-on technical work</b>, <b>client-facing responsibilities</b>, and mentoring junior actuaries, without the bureaucracy that comes with a large firm.</p>
<h3>What You'll Be Doing</h3>
<ul>
<li>Leading actuarial valuations for a range of DB and hybrid pension plans (including multi-employer schemes)</li>
<li>Advising on funding strategies, plan design changes, and regulatory compliance</li>
<li>Presenting directly to trustee boards and plan sponsors with clear, commercially-minded advice</li>
<li>Overseeing the development of models for projections, sensitivity testing, and risk analysis</li>
<li>Reviewing work from analysts and juniors, providing technical guidance and mentorship</li>
<li>Staying up to date with regulatory changes and contributing to thought leadership initiatives</li>
</ul>
<h3>What They\'re Looking For</h3>
<ul>
<li>Qualified actuary (FCIA, FIA, FSA or equivalent), with <b>8 to 10+ years’ experience</b> in pensions consulting</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, funding strategies, and risk frameworks</li>
<li>Experience working with multi-employer plans or public sector clients is a plus</li>
<li>Solid understanding of accounting standards and pension legislation in your jurisdiction</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues</li>
<li>Comfortable managing projects, delivering high-quality work, and taking ownership</li>
