You’ll work with Power BI and SQL to turn data into insights, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, data visualization, and collaborating across departments.<br><br>*<b>Please note, this is a 1 year term role</b>*<br><br><b>Key Responsibilities</b><ul><li>Collect, clean, and analyze large data sets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.</li><li>Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor key business metrics and support data-driven decision-making.</li><li>Identify trends, patterns, and insights that help guide business strategy and performance improvement.</li><li>Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data for reporting and analysis.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate business needs into effective analytical solutions.</li><li>Support data quality, governance, and process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting reliability and efficiency.</li></ul><br /><b>Qualifications</b><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.</li><li>3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics.</li><li>Proficiency in Power BI, including report creation and dashboard design.</li><li>Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL query development.</li><li>Familiarity with data visualization and data modeling concepts, </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.</li><li>Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with both technical and non-technical users.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Asset: Certification such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate; experience with Excel, cloud BI platform</li><li>Asset: ETL tools and processes, data ingestion, and architecture.</li></ul><br /><b>Avenir Energy is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process.</b> Please let us know if you require accommodation at any stage.
