Continue to learn and advance carpentry skills, as well as help to teach junior apprentices.</p><p></p><p>Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><br />1st year apprentice:<ul><li><br />Understanding of frequently used tools and equipment<ul><li><br />What they are used for</li><li><br />How they are safely used</li><li><br />Routine Maintenance and how it is safely completed</li><li><br />Proper storage</li></ul></li><li><br />Understanding of construction terminology </li><li><br />Competent framing skills</li><li><br />Understanding of construction components and process</li><li><br />Participation in safety program</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br />2nd year apprentice:<ul><li><br />All of the above</li><li><br />Ability to read and interpret blueprints</li><li><br />Ability to lead and instruct 1st year</li><li><br />Competent ICF skills</li><li><br />Competent framing layout skills</li><li><br />Competent concrete placing skills</li><li><br />Participation in safety program</li><li><br />Ability to complete tasks set out by senior carpenters with limited supervision</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br />3rd year apprentice:<ul><li><br />All of Above</li><li><br />Ability to lead and instruct 1st year, 2nd year and labourer</li><li><br />Competent forming and rebar skills</li><li><br />Competent site layout and grading skills</li><li><br />Competent concrete finishing skills</li><li><br />Understanding of building systems, how they are installed and how they interact with each other</li><li><br />Ability to complete accurate site takeoffs</li><li><br />Competent window and door installation</li><li><br />Ability to complete tasks set out by senior carpenters with limited supervision</li><li><br />Ability to read and apply building codes</li><li><br />Participation in safety program<br /></li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li><br />4th year apprentice:<ul><li><br />All of the above</li><li><br />Competent skills in:<ul><li><br />roofing</li><li><br />insulation/vapour barrier</li><li><br />drywall</li><li><br />interior and exterior finishes</li></ul></li><li><br />Ability to lead and instruct 1st, 2nd, 3rd year and labourer</li><li><br />Ability to start and complete most aspects of home construction with minimal supervision to the standards of Effect Home Builders</li><li><br />Ability to decipher engineering drawings and install components in accordance with them</li><li><br />Participation in safety program</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Requirements</p><ul><li><br />High level of motivation</li><li><br />Clear, concise and respectful communication skills </li><li><br />Ability to achieve high level of company standards of construction</li><li><br />Ability to read and write</li><li><br />Provide tools and PPE as per supplied list</li><li><br />Work outdoors in all weather conditions</li><li><br />Ability to read blueprints</li><li><br />Neat, presentable appearance</li><li><br />Respectful onsite presence</li><li><br />Reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, good driving record</li><li><br />Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis</li><li><br />Perform a variety of construction tasks within a 44 hour work week</li></ul></p></p>
