<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Data Warehouse Architect (Contract Role) – Europ Assistance Canada is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect to join the Operations team in Canada. The role is based in Toronto with a hybrid in-office/remote work arrangement and requires close collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders. The position reports to the Head of IT.</p><p>Europ Assistance Canada, part of Generali Group, operates globally and focuses on the Travel Insurance industry in Canada. This role will contribute to building local Canadian operations and support data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain data models and pipelines for warehouse systems.</li><li>Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement.</li><li>Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and relevance.</li><li>Create dashboards and reports to support business decision-making and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Monitor data quality and integrity across warehouse systems and recommend improvements.</li><li>Support data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to data privacy and security standards.</li><li>Define all metadata standards for the data warehouse.</li><li>Prepare designs for needed database systems and recommend measures to improve performance.</li><li>Assist in the migration and integration of legacy systems into modern data platforms.</li><li>Document data processes, definitions, and workflows for cross-functional understanding.</li><li>Create status reports and submit them to management.</li><li>Scrutinize the current data infrastructure, identify gaps, and develop plans to integrate with the future model.</li><li>Evaluate data needs and requests and implement items that improve the data warehouse structure.</li><li>Develop and implement project work plans as needed.</li></ul><h3>Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.</li><li>8+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.</li><li>Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.</li><li>Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).</li><li>Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse).</li><li>Strong understanding of Data Modeling, SQL, OLAP, and ETL, including practical experience with at least one ETL tool (e.g., SSIS).</li><li>Strong understanding of insurance operations and terminology is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li><b>Flexible Language Requirement:</b> French not required.</li><li><b>Work Location:</b> Hybrid</li><li><b>Vacancy:</b> 1 (new role)</li><li><b>Accommodation:</b> Europ Assistance Canada Services Inc. supports accommodation requests; contact careers@europ-assistance.ca if required.</li><li><b>AI Usage Disclosure:</b> The recruitment process may involve AI or automated tools to assist in screening, assessing, and selecting applicants in compliance with privacy and employment regulations.</li></ul><h3>Seniority level</h3><ul><li>Mid-Senior level</li></ul><h3>Employment type</h3><ul><li>Contract</li></ul><h3>Job function</h3><ul><li>Other</li></ul><h3>Industries</h3><ul><li>Insurance</li></ul><p>We thank all applications for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.</p></p>
