Director of Nursing Care, RN-Long-Term Care, Permanent Full-Time

The Village of Millers Creek located in Ajax, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Director of Nursing Care to join their team.

Responsibilities

• As a new Director of Nursing Care, possess a current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Maintain current Heart/ Save CPR level.
• Lead and direct department(s) in a healthcare setting with at least three (3) years of experience.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and uphold a caring, respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
• Align with Schlegel Village objectives, philosophy, and family values; understand the duties and expectations of the Director of Nursing Care role.
• Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Director of Nursing Care position.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current CPR certification (Heart Saver level).
• Three (3) years of experience leading and directing departments in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Alignment with a family culture and Village values.
• Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.

Assets (not required)

• RNAO/RPNAO membership.
• MDS credential (may be asset depending on Village size).
• Knowledge of infection control practices, WHMIS, and health and safety procedures.
• Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
