Director of Procurement

If you are an experienced and talented Director of Procurement with strong experience in purchasing raw material food items, then this is the role for you!! Our client is a leading food company and as part of their exciting expansion plans they are now seeking to hire a dynamic procurement professional to join their team.

Please note this is an in office position.
In this role, key responsibilities will include



:
Develop and implement system-wide procurement strategies and programs designed to reduce cost, improve product and service quality and elevate supplier performance.
Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement plans to react.
Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety.
Help to lower costs and secure agreements.
Management of procurement professionals.
Create and implement KPI’s.
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and internal customers.
Provide leadership, direction and guidance to direct reports.
Support the training and development of staff.

The ideal candidate will possess:
Degree/diploma in supply chain management or related.
At least 10 years purchasing/procurement experience in the food manufacturing industry required.
5+ years management of procurement professionals required.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to deal with people at all levels, is required.
