We’re looking for a customer-facing eCommerce Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you have a background in bookkeeping for eCommerce businesses and experience working with multiple financial systems, this role is an opportunity to apply that expertise in a unique way. Please note that this position requires working out of our office in Downtown Toronto, with the ability to work from home up to 2 days a week over time.

Rather than managing books directly, you’ll help merchants using Fulfil optimize their bookkeeping processes, troubleshoot reconciliation challenges, and ensure they are set up for financial accuracy and efficiency. You’ll work closely with eCommerce brands, guiding them in best practices for integrating platforms like Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, PayPal, and other financial tools within Fulfil. This role is also the first of it’s kind, so expect some ambiguity along with the opportunity to set the bar for what great looks like too!

What You’ll Do:

• Assist merchants in understanding and optimizing their bookkeeping processes within Fulfil, ensuring accurate reporting and financial clarity.
• Guide merchants on effective reconciliation practices between Fulfil, their accounting software, and sales channels like Shopify and Amazon.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve financial discrepancies, working with customers to ensure they can confidently track COGS, revenue, and multi-channel transactions.
• Provide insights on sales tax compliance and multi-currency transactions, helping merchants navigate financial complexities.
• Work closely with internal teams, including Implementation and Support, to ensure merchants get the most out of Fulfil’s financial capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and educate merchants on how to leverage Fulfil’s features for better financial visibility

We’re Looking for Someone With

• Fresh CPA or 3+ years of core accounting experience (not limited to tax or audit)
• Experience in a customer facing role as an external bookkeeper, working with multiple clients (ideally for eCommerce clients)
• Curious about how systems work, especially in eCommerce, supply chain, operations, accounting, or marketplaces.
• 3+ years of
• Strong understanding of eCommerce financial operations, including revenue recognition, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, Traditional ERPs, Shopify, Amazon, and financial reconciliation practices.
• Familiarity with sales tax compliance across multiple states/provinces and multi-currency transactions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills—you can break down complex financial topics and guide merchants effectively.
• Experience working with fast-paced, high-growth businesses that require adaptability and efficiency.
• A customer-centric mindset—you’re not just a bookkeeper; you’re an advisor who helps merchants maximize their financial clarity.

Nice to Haves:

• Took courses in supply chain, accounting, finance, or operations
• Have used Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, or marketplaces
• Have worked with eCommerce merchants or understand DTC brands
• Have played with automation or AI tools on your own (we’d love to hear how)
