Estimator - Construction Industry (Medior level)

<p>We are seeking a <b>self motivated and detail oriented Medior Estimator</b> to join one of our clients, a fast growing company operating in the construction sector. This role plays a critical part in producing accurate and competitive estimates for <b>medium to large scale commercial mechanical projects</b>.</p><p><br></p><p>The successful candidate will manage the full estimating process-from reviewing drawings to final pricing-while supporting ongoing operations and growth across multiple regions in Canada. As part of a <b>small and agile team</b>, the Estimator will report directly to ownership and assume responsibility for a core business function that directly impacts project success and overall company performance. This position requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a <b>deadline driven construction environment</b>.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Prepare and manage cost estimates for <b>medium to large scale commercial mechanical projects</b></li><li>Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents</li><li>Record, analyze, and compare bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors</li><li>Develop accurate pricing for mechanical scopes, with a focus on:</li><li>Sheet metal</li><li>Plumbing</li><li>Electrical controls related to mechanical systems</li><li>Distribute drawings to suppliers and subcontractors and consolidate quotations</li><li>Analyze scope requirements and identify potential risks or cost impacts</li><li>Ensure all bids are complete, competitive, and submitted on time</li><li>Manage multiple estimates simultaneously with a high level of accuracy</li><li>Identify opportunities to optimize equipment and supply costs</li><li>Collaborate closely with ownership on bid strategy and project selection</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Technical background in <b>HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, or related trades</b></li><li><b>Ability to interpret and navigate technical drawings and specifications</b></li><li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities</li><li>Solid understanding of mechanical construction methods and materials</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage complex estimation tasks</li><li>Strong organizational skills and comfort working under tight deadlines</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Preferred Experience</b></p><ul><li><b>Minimum of 3+ years</b> of experience in mechanical or HVAC <b>estimating</b></li><li>Proven experience working on <b>medium to large scale commercial projects</b></li><li>Experience within a mechanical contractor environment is a strong asset</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Work Environment</b></p><ul><li>Collaborative, flexible and close knit team environment</li><li>Fast paced setting aligned with active construction project timelines</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Compensation & Benefits</b></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary, <b>commensurate with experience </b></li><li>Comprehensive health and dental benefits</li><li>3 to 4 weeks of vacation</li><li>Flexible environment: give and take mentality</li><li>No even work, no work during weekends.</li><li>Long term career opportunity within a growing and well established organization</li></ul>
