<p>Urban Post is an award-winning post-production facility. For more than 15 years, we have provided post-production services for large-budget theatrical features, Episodic shows, MOWs, documentaries, and short film productions. We offer dailies, offline edit suites with equipment, 2d VFX, sound edit, sound mixing, ADR, foley, picture finishing, and full deliverables for theatrical, festivals, and major streaming platforms. </p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Winnipeg operation. The GM will oversee all business operations while serving as the primary liaison with our Toronto head office. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational management to deliver exceptional post-production services to our clients across film, television, and streaming content in all genres.</p><p><br></p><p>The successful candidate will nurture a creative and collaborative atmosphere while actively supporting business growth and ensuring operational excellence in our lively, deadline-driven environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><u>Strategic Leadership & Business Development</u></p><ul><li>Provide strategic direction and leadership for all studio operations</li><li>Drive business growth through relationship building and new client acquisition</li><li>Represent the studio at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities</li><li>Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Operations Management</u></p><ul><li>Oversee day-to-day studio operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations</li><li>Collaborate with department heads to optimize workflows and resource allocation.</li><li>Manage studio facilities, equipment maintenance, and technology acquisition</li><li>Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Team Leadership & Culture</u></p><ul><li>Foster a positive, high-performance culture that supports artistic excellence and operational efficiency</li><li>Provide collaborative assistance and support to Dailies Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor</li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop staff to achieve professional growth and studio objectives</li><li>Address staff concerns and facilitate professional development opportunities</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Communication & Reporting</u></p><ul><li>Serve as the primary point of contact with the Toronto Operations Manager and Project Managers</li><li>Participate in weekly management meetings with both Winnipeg and Toronto teams</li><li>Provide regular updates on ongoing projects, future productions, and market opportunities</li><li>Communicate staff concerns and operational needs with the Toronto office.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><u>Experience & Background</u></p><ul><li>5-7 years of proven leadership experience in post-production, VFX and/or related media environment</li><li>Demonstrated success in managing teams and complex projects in creative industries</li><li>Sales experience</li><li>Experience with budget management and P&L responsibility preferred</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Technical Knowledge</u></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of post-production workflows, technologies, and industry trends</li><li>Knowledge of film, television, and streaming content production processes</li><li>Familiarity with industry-standard software and equipment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>Core Competencies</u></p><ul><li>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective team and client management</li><li>Strong business acumen with the ability to drive growth and operational efficiency</li><li>Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments</li><li>Strategic thinking combined with hands-on operational capabilities</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Must work on-site at our Winnipeg studio during regular business hours (Monday-Friday)</li><li>Flexibility for extended hours during peak production periods</li><li>Availability for industry events and client meetings as required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package</li><li>Professional development opportunities</li><li>Opportunity to lead a growing operation in Manitoba's expanding film industry</li><li>Collaborative work environment with industry-leading professionals</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Application Process: </strong>Please submit your resume, cover letter, and a portfolio of relevant experience that demonstrates your leadership in post-production environments.</p><p><br></p><p>Urban Post Production is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
