Daiken North America LTD is seeking a Trainer, Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist for our Huntsville, ON facility.The Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist position, reports to the EHS Director and is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating HSE documents along with other assigned tasks.Daiken North America LTD is located in beautiful, tranquil Huntsville! Contractor Clearance Certificates and Liability InsurancePerform chemical audits annually for J.H.S.C.Air Wash conversion: summer to winter & backMonitor and record all well water taking record usage and destinationMaintain a daily water usage spreadsheet with volumes for MOE reportingMonthly water sampling for pond and tap waters sent to lab for analysisWeekly recording of discharge to septicWeekly inspection of water infiltration ponds to ensure percolationWell depth monitoring and recording weeklySupply check and record sheet for maintenance daily oil, water discharge at pond and separator tankArrange for leachate well testing to confirm clean ground water aquifer on annual basisDispose of all hazardous waste from Lab and TreaterMaintain all movement documents for manifests for all waste streamsEnvironmental Protection Plan / HuntsvilleDischarge reporting particulate spills and chemicals to MOEInvestigate and report neighbor complaintsKeep neighbor profile updated annuallyCoordinate Annual waste audit by outside contractorCoordinate Annual cathodic protection analysis by outside contractorRecycling Waste Plan to be developed, communicated and enforcedLandfill Waste Plan to be developed, communicated and enforcedEnvironmental Waste Plan to be developed, communicated and enforcedMaintain and submit facility air and environmental permits Be lead in facility submissions and audits for wood supply and chain or custodyMaintain and report on permits for wood consumption and trackingAct as lead auditor and company representative on ISO 9000Review and update any chemical or regulatory inventories and reporting plus approval and review of new chemicals or processesOther duties and plans laid out by the Corporate Environmental Engineer including C of A'sUnderstanding of Health & Safety policies and appropriate Legislation including Environmental (MOE & MOL)Must be able to maintain confidentialityCollege training in HS&E, and Environmental Good verbal & written communication skillsGood organizational skillsGood computer skills including PowerPointGood problem-solving skillsSelf-motivatedDaiken North American Ltd is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.
