Berens River School is a Nursery to Grade 9 School with approximately 429 students.
Berens River is a community of approximately 3,546 located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, a 4 hour drive north of Winnipeg. This lakeside town offers community services such as a general store, Northern store and a community hall.
The beautiful surrounding area is a recreational paradise offering a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and canoeing. Qualifications: Bachelor of Education Degree and Bachelor of Human Ecology Degree Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) A sound knowledge of provincial Home Economics curricula Previous Home Economics teaching experience Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum Strong classroom management skills Experience working in a northern community Experience working with students with unique needs A commitment to differentiated instruction A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Self-motivated Applicants are required to submit the following: cover letter current resume list of three professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicant’s performance in the applicant’s current or recent assignment Thank you for your interest; however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
