Full-time, permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly



$105,896.79 – $141,195.74

A hiring preference will apply for qualified candidates of Canadian Indigenous ancestry, with a priority for qualified Yukon First Nation candidates


Eligibility

Degree or Diploma in business administration, social sciences, human resources management, or similar degree. Relevant work experience may be considered
Chartered Professional in Human Resources Designation is a strong preference
Exceptional knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of all human resources functions
Exceptional ability in interpreting employee and labour laws, specifically the Canada Labour Code, and other applicable acts and regulations
Experience utilizing various human resources information management systems and/or software
General knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, as well as Yukon First Nations and First Nations Agreements, is required
Experience working in a First Nation government is considered an asset

The works from the Head Office, located in Whitehorse, Yukon

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board’s (YESAB) human resources functions. Further, this position is responsible for:



Shaping YESAB’s culture and fostering employee engagement
Providing strategic direction and leadership, aligning HR initiatives with the YESAB’s overall strategic goals and objectives
Ensuring compliance with federal employment laws, regulations, and YESAB’s policies, and manages HR-related risks to mitigate legal exposure and protect the YESABS’s interests
Provides information, advice, recommendation and direction to the Executive Director, the Board, senior management team and management team to address organizational challenges
Leading and directing the Human Resources Unit, which includes supervision, performance management, and coordination of tasks and schedules
