INTERIOR DESIGNER

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a well-established and growing architecture and design firm in Calgary, recognized for delivering thoughtful, functional, and well-executed interiors across commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and residential projects. As their studio continues to expand, they are seeking an Interior Designer who is passionate about creating high-quality environments and contributing to projects from concept through completion.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across Western Canada.
YOUR ROLE
As an Interior Designer, you will support and lead interior design projects through all phases, working closely with senior designers, architects, consultants, and clients. You will be involved in design development, technical documentation, coordination, and execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of design excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to interior design projects across commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and residential sectors
- Assist with and develop design concepts, space planning, material selections, and FF&E packages
- Prepare and coordinate drawing sets, specifications, and construction documentation
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants throughout all project phases
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews
- Support contract administration tasks, including shop drawing reviews and site visits
- Ensure designs align with building codes, accessibility standards, and project requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in interior design within an architecture or design firm
- NCIDQ certified or actively working toward certification
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design from an accredited program
- Experience working on commercial and/or institutional projects (mixed-use or residential experience considered a strong asset)
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD required; Revit experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of building codes, detailing, and construction documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills
