<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:</strong></p><p>The Lead Hand Production Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machines and participates in ensuring the utmost quality of product. </p><p></p><p><strong>Responsible for:</strong></p><ul><li>Packing a variety of manufactured products (lids and containers) accurately and efficiently </li><li>Ensuring that close attention is paid to the quality of the products that are coming off the machines – putting aside defective products and communicating to Shift Supervisor</li><li>Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)</li></ul><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Check the quality of product <span >(lids/containers)every</span> stack top and bottom (flip stack prior to bagging) - look for short shots, warping, black spots, witness marks, long gates, etc.</li><li>Apply appropriate colored bag to the stack and pack and tape the bag closed</li><li>Place bagged product into the appropriate bin as indicated by the bin placard</li><li>Notify supervisor immediately when any quality issues are discovered</li><li>Count and document the number of plastic sleeves of products that are packed during each shift</li><li>Ensure that all parts are removed from the machine, table and over top of the conveyor before starting a new order</li><li>Place the new placard onto new bin</li><li>Ensure any scrap parts are placed into the scrap bin – weigh and record as required</li><li>Printing boxes</li><li>Printing labels from Dynamics program </li><li>Sweep floor and ensure that any spills (oil, water, resin, parts) are cleaned up in a timely manner</li><li>Notify supervisor immediately of any hazards, incidents or accidents</li><li>Maintain a clean workstation(s) at all time </li><li>Print boxes when needed for production</li><li>Cover breaks </li><li>Gemba walk with Production Supervisor, safety walk </li><li>Audit production bins for correct quantity, labels and no mixing </li><li>Audit all employees for GMP, PPE, and work areas are clean </li><li>Audit cleaning carts are filled out and in order </li><li>Print labels for production</li><li>Allocate associates if machines are down for extended time</li><li>Report any down machines or quality issues to the Supervisor </li><li>Verifying all paperwork and logs are up to date </li><li>Coordinate with Material Handlers to have products staged at machines for packing</li><li>Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Skills and Education</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent</li></ul><ul><li>Basic math and computer skills</li><li>Ability to follow instructions</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English</li><li>Must have attention to detail</li><li>Must be able to differentiate between colors and their shades</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Soft Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Problem solving - the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully. </li><li>Interpersonal Skills - the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.</li><li>Oral communication - the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, group presentations and meetings.</li><li>Written Communication - the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.</li><li><span >Planning/organizing</span> - the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. </li></ul><ul><li>Quality control - the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.</li></ul><ul><li>Adaptability - the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.</li><li>Dependability - the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.</li><li>Safety and security - the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.</li></ul><p><strong>Other Job Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to speak, read and write English</li><li>Must have reliable transportation</li><li>Must have full range of motion</li><li>Must be able to bend, twist and lift up to 30lbs on a continuous basis </li><li>Must be able to sit, stand/walk for long periods of time</li><li>Able to work 12 hour rotating continental shifts</li></ul></p></p>
