<b>Legal Services Manager (HR & Accounting)<br></b><br>
Strategic bilingual role overseeing legal and accounting support services in Montréal. Supervision of multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment, with interaction across multiple Canadian offices and a hybrid work model. General Responsibilities:<br><br>• Supervise accounting, legal, and administrative support teams in Montréal.<br>
<br>• Ensure seamless coordination with the Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto offices.<br>
<br>• Actively participate in employee performance evaluations.<br>
<br>• Support performance management in collaboration with HR and lawyers.<br>
<br>• Organize resource allocation for new and existing legal professionals.<br>
<br>• Identify professional development needs and coordinate training opportunities.<br>
<br>• Participate in recruitment and onboarding of support staff.<br>
<br>• Provide compensation recommendations aligned with market conditions and budgets.<br>
<br>• Manage employee departures in coordination with HR.<br>
<br>• Approve vacation requests, organize coverage, and process payroll-related notices.<br>
<br>• Address workload distribution and internal communication issues.<br>
<br>• Review paralegal timesheets on a quarterly basis.<br>
<br>• Assign mentors to new employees.<br>
<br>• Approve overtime and expense reimbursement requests.<br>
<br>• Participate in employment termination procedures.<br>
<br>• Contribute to succession and workforce planning.<br>
<br>
<b>Accounting Responsibilities:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• Manage and oversee the local accounting team.<br>
<br>• Perform daily bank reconciliations and cash flow analyses.<br>
<br>• Prepare payments related to files, remittances, and trust accounts.<br>
<br>• Respond to internal accounting inquiries.<br>
<br>• Act as a liaison with the national accounting department.<br>
<br>• Generate lawyer time-tracking reports.<br>
<br>• Manage the monthly accounting close process.<br>
<br>• Monitor accounts receivable, WIP, and trust funds.<br>
<br>• Manage intercompany accounts.<br>
<br>• Conduct annual performance evaluations for the administrative team.<br>
<br>• Process electronic payments and transfers.<br>
<br>• Provide accounting support during staff absences.<br>
<br>• Generate reports required by partners.<br>
<br>• Optimize accounting software and ensure proper system functionality.<br>
<br>• Train employees on the use of accounting tools.<br>
<br>
<b>What you will need to succeed:</b><b><br></b>

<br>• Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (asset).<br>
<br>• 5 years of experience in human resources and accounting.<br>
<br>• Experience in legal support services or consulting.<br>
<br>• Bilingual in English and French, required to:<br>
<br>• Communicate effectively with teams based in Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.<br>
<br>• Support lawyers and administrative services in both official languages.<br>
<br>• Draft internal communications and accounting reports for a national audience.<br>
<br>• Participate in evaluations, training, HR processes, and performance follow-ups in both languages.<br>
<br>• Demonstrated leadership and proven experience managing teams.<br>
<br>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.<br>
<br>• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple files simultaneously.<br>
<br>• Proficiency in performance management and talent development.<br>
<br>• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.<br>
<br>• Strong command of HR tools and accounting software.<br>
<br>• Skills in mentoring, problem-solving, time management, and strategic planning.<br>
