<p>Permanent position – Hybrid</p>
<h3>Responsibilities / Duties</h3>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with legal teams to identify opportunities for implementing a range of technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.</li>
<li>Assist with leveraging AI systems for end‑users, ensuring these systems are tailored to meet the specific needs (e.g., choosing the right AI tool for various use cases, collaboratively prompt‑engineering, creating workflow‑specific AI apps).</li>
<li>Work closely with Knowledge and Practice Innovation lawyers to leverage their relationships and understanding of different practice areas and legal workflows.</li>
<li>Participate in system analysis, requirements gathering, system design and implementation planning for existing or new systems.</li>
<li>Validate the use of legal technology tools to ensure they are meeting the intended objectives and making necessary adjustments or recommendations for improvement as needed.</li>
<li>Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, overseeing service level agreements, and ensuring vendors deliver high‑quality products and services that meet the firm's needs and standards.</li>
<li>Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of legal technology solutions, including developing training programs, communicating benefits to stakeholders, and addressing any resistance or barriers to adoption.</li>
<li>Provide training and ongoing support and guidance to legal and business professionals on the use of legal technology tools, including troubleshooting issues and answering questions.</li>
<li>Where appropriate, provide hands‑on support in the use of legal technologies on client files, as a member of the matter team.</li>
<li>Stay current on emerging legal technologies and trends and assess their potential impact on our firm and clients.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with key stakeholders on all aspects of the selection, implementation and use of legal technology.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Required Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in legal practice at a leading law firm.</li>
<li>Expert understanding and working knowledge of Document Management Systems (iManage), Microsoft Office 365 applications, Adobe and other legal production software (such as Litera products).</li>
<li>Highly skilled in application administration, testing, configuration, performance monitoring and in-depth troubleshooting.</li>
<li>Familiarity with legal technology tools, general AI applications, and platforms with AI components.</li>
<li>Ability to facilitate small and large group meetings, training and working sessions.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>LLB, BCL or J.D. required; B.Comm or MBA is an asset.</li>
<li>Fluency in both English and French.</li>
<li>Must be a member in good standing with the applicable provincial Law Society.</li>
<li>Minimum of two (2) years of legal practice experience in a large law firm, legal department or professional services firm.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of legal technology tools and platforms, with an interest in understanding and applying technical solutions to standardize legal processes.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical skills and the ability to use logic to solve complex problems.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills combined with excellent organizational skills, and rigorous attention to detail.</li>
<li>Ability to balance competing demands, demonstrated good business judgment, and experience working effectively both independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>Curiosity and a growth mindset, with a strong interest in evolving best practices in legal and knowledge industries and staying current on emerging legal technologies and trends.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Pay Range</h3>
<p>$130,000 to $150,000. Pay range to be commensurate with experience.</p>
