Role Overview
The Operations Partner role is a key position within Bird’s Operations Team. The Operations Partner will work with regional Operations leadership to manage our fleet of e-scooters in Hamilton, ensuring they are maintained and deployed to meet community transportation needs. We seek a strategic, entrepreneurial thinker with a proactive attitude who can operate both strategically and in detail to meet ambitious goals. The ideal candidate should be a proactive 'doer', possess strong strategic skills, excellent time-management, and effective communication abilities. As an Operations Partner, you will oversee all strategic operations in Hamilton, using mobile technology to monitor, transport, rebalance, and maintain our vehicles, ensuring a safe, environmentally friendly, and accessible scooter service nearby.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end operations of the portfolio, including charging, deploying, relocating, and retrieving vehicles.
- Drive growth through local campaigns and initiatives to increase market share.
- Problem solve by prioritizing tasks and overcoming obstacles.
- Be resourceful, self-motivated, and proactive—work independently and initiate projects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Access to a personal van or truck suitable for transporting scooters.
- Strong knowledge of local geography.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends.
- Comfortable learning new concepts and tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; capable of stooping, bending, walking, and standing for long periods.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and eager to learn and build a team.
- Excellent networking skills and ability to liaise with external partners and city stakeholders.
- Experience in solving complex problems, exercising judgment, and navigating ambiguity.
- Ability to break down difficult problems into actionable tasks.
