The Manager provides leadership to the policy team to ensure analysis is done through an Indigenous Gender Based Analysis and human rights lens. They collaboratively work other ONWA teams to ensure feedback from engagements with ONWA members and community members are reflected in policy submissions, briefs, legislative reviews, and other policy related materials. As Policy Manager they will lead a team to define, analyze, develop, and evaluate policies to effect positive change for Indigenous Women and their families that honors, respects, and restores Indigenous Womens leadership. They manage projects, work with stakeholders and community members to gather input and share information.</p><p></p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p><br><br></p><ul><li>A degree or diploma related to Policy, Social Sciences, Political Science, Indigenous studies, womens studies, or public administration with a minimum of five (5) years experience in a supervising or management role.</li><li>Extensive experience in drafting and analyzing policy and issues affecting Indigenous families and awareness of community resources.</li><li>Demonstrated administrative management with the ability to supervise a team of people and provide information and support as required.</li><li>A demonstrated high level of written, oral, and interpersonal skills and can influence and negotiate with partners and stakeholders to find collaborative solutions for complex issues.</li><li>Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish and maintain credible and trusting relationships with senior management, Community Members, and all partners.</li><li>Experience with financial planning; to plan and manage programs/projects and support planning processes and reporting, including results based planning and annual plans within budgets.</li><li>Excellent human resources skills and ability to work as a member of a team yet act independently to meet deadlines.</li><li>Working knowledge of Not-for-Profit and government organization policy and program delivery. Experience working with Indigenous governance structures and communities.</li><li>Demonstrated experience providing written submissions, drafting policy, analyzing government policy, legislation, regulations, engagement approaches, working agreements in relation to Indigenous women, families and/or communities.</li><li>Strong awareness of issues affecting Indigenous women and their families.</li></ul><ul><li>Solution oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Knowledge of and relationships with other service agencies, ability to network and create/maintain these relationships.</li><li>Experience coordinating workshops and/or conferences.</li></ul><ul><li><span >Ability/willingness</span> to travel and to work flexible hours.</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate and influence across the organization.</li><li>Creative, flexible, and strategic change focused.</li><li>Decision making skills to set standards and priorities and allocate time and resources.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, internet, and general office equipment.</li><li>Reliable vehicle, appropriate insurance coverage and valid Ontario G class drivers license.</li><li>Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check.</li><li>Cellular phone and internet access are required within this position.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Please know, this is an existing role we are looking to fill.</p><p><br />The full salary range for this role is $87,000 - $107,574 ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.</p><p><br /></p><p><em>We welcome applications from people with disabilities.
