Position Overview


Performs direct and indirect patient care activities and non-patient activities that are delegated and directed by the Therapist responsible for the care of the patient(s) and/or the Discipline Manager. Performs clerical duties for the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments as assigned.

Performs reception and housekeeping duties in the departments as assigned.


Experience

  • Previous direct care patient experience in an acute care Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Department preferred.
  • Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program is required.
  • Consideration may be given to individuals who are in the process of attaining an academic degree in Physiotherapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT).
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Computer skills are required.
  • Must be fluent in both oral and written English communication and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with people in a variety of settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
