<p><h3>Position Summary</h3><p>Phasor Engineering Inc is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. We are currently seeking a highly motivated <b>Electrical/Substation Engineer</b> to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. Seniority level: Mid-Senior.</p>
<p>You will work with an extremely experienced technical team and be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Complete and authenticate outdoor substation design packages for ampacity diagram, layouts, plot plans, bus elevations, ground grid, equipment/structure grounding details, control & power cable layouts, control building electrical design, for voltage levels ranging from 25kV to 240kV.</li>
<li>Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design conformance is accomplished.</li>
<li>Complete calculations and studies to support the design, including grounding, lightning, lighting, AC/DC load studies, station service transformer and battery bank sizing, insulation coordination, and rigid bus study.</li>
<li>Complete MV cable ampacity calculations with CYMCAP.</li>
<li>Develop equipment and apparatus specifications suitable for project application.</li>
<li>Review vendor documentation and drawings to ensure constructability, operability, and compliance with equipment specifications and design.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain bill of materials for substation outdoor installation.</li>
<li>Review engineered outputs to ensure compliance with project-defined scopes and client requirements.</li>
<li>Provide site construction and commissioning support when needed.</li>
<li>Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data.</li>
<li>Interface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issues.</li>
<li>Provide mentoring guidance and direction to junior members of the team.</li>
<li>Assist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practices.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.</li>
<li>Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA).</li>
<li>6-10 years of experience in electrical substation design.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills and extreme attention to detail.</li>
<li>Solid base knowledge of electrical theory and mathematics.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of relevant Canadian, Ontario and Alberta codes and standards (CEC, CSA, AEUC, OESC, etc.) is advantageous.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Salary and Benefits</h3>
<p>Salary range: $160,000 - $210,000 per year (actual pay based on skills and experience).</p>
