As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, reviewing, and ensuring the structural integrity of various systems within our mining/backfill client projects.</p><p><br /></p><p>Reporting to the office a minimum of two days per week, your responsibilities will include preparing design calculations, reviewing drawings, and contributing to the overall success of construction and design projects.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Prepare and review design calculations of structural systems in the mining industry.</p></li><li><p>Participate in the preparation and review of drawings, design specifications, and reports.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the preparation of estimates, bills of quantities, schedules, and budgets.</p></li><li><p>Ensure that plans meet guidelines, building code requirements, and other national and international standards and regulations.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the preparation of contract documents for construction and design projects.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports within areas of expertise.</p></li><li><p>Support the preparation of contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.</p></li><li><p>Plan and create detailed structural engineering drawings in both 2D and 3D design, collaborating with other team members.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate design files for reference.</p></li><li><p>Check 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability with other disciplines.</p></li><li><p>Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists.</p></li><li><p>Stamp documents and drawings as required and if appropriately registered.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with mechanical engineers, automation specialists, and mining operations teams to optimize systems.</p></li><li><p>Support capital projects related to new mining infrastructure, automation upgrades, and power system expansions.</p></li><li><p>Provide feedback to managers and contribute to the business's continuous improvement and growth.</p></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, specializing in steel and concrete structural design or similar.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of three (3) years of civil engineering experience.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of three (3) years of structural mining experience (focus on mining/backfill).</p></li><li><p>Licensed and Registered Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng).</p></li><li><p>Knowledge in AutoCAD, SAP2000, and ETABS.</p></li><li><p>Proficient in English communication.</p></li><li><p>Good knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.</p></li></ul><p></p></p></p>Company Description<p>W3Global was established in 2006 in Fremont, CA with a vision: simplify the recruiting process and develop an industry-disrupting platform to connect candidates with clients.
