<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Tier II Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Nucleic Acid Therapeutics & Immune Engineering, Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.</p><p>Assistant Professor, tenure‑track appointment.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Develop an independent, externally funded research program in nucleic acid therapeutics and immune engineering.</li><li>Secure peer‑reviewed national and provincial grants.</li><li>Deliver undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervise graduate students.</li><li>Collaborate with members of the Inflammation Research Network, Gastrointestinal Research Group, Immunology Research Group and/or Lung Health Research Group.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Ph.D. (or equivalent) with at least three years of post‑doctoral experience.</li><li>Track record in nucleic acid therapeutics and immune engineering (publications, external awards, letters of reference).</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead an independent research program and to secure independent funding.</li><li>Teaching experience and ability to supervise graduate students.</li><li>Emerging scholar: active researcher fewer than ten years at time of nomination.</li></ul><h3>Application Process</h3><ul><li>Submit online application via the University of Calgary Careers webpage using the “Apply Now” link.</li><li>Maximum of four attachments, organized as follows:</li></ul><ol><li>Cover letter</li><li>Curriculum vitae</li><li>Research interest statement (≤2 pages)</li><li>Leadership statement including equity, diversity and inclusion considerations (≤2 pages)</li><li>Names and contact information for three referees.</li></ol><p>Questions may be directed to Dr. Robert Newton, Head, Department of Physiology & Pharmacology (c/o Neil Chander, robert.newton@ucalgary.ca).</p><h3>Posting Dates</h3><ul><li>Posting Date: December 19, 2025</li><li>Closing Date: January 25, 2026</li></ul><h3>EEO & Indigenous Strategy</h3><p>Universal commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
