Winnipeg School Division
Vice-Principals
Various Schools
WSD is inviting candidates for a variety of vice-principal positions listed below. We are looking for candidates who have a strong and proven track record of designing deep and rich learning experiences for learners. Candidates should have experience as educational leaders where they have coached other teachers to become better at teaching. The role of vice principals moving forward is to be vice principal-teachers – that is a teacher of teachers so that instruction at all WSD schools can become even more powerful.
Candidates should also be devoted to including all learners meaningfully, in the life of the school community. This devotion should be supported by a deep understanding of the evidence and literature associated with appropriate inclusionary practices.
Candidates should be engaged in Early Years, Middle Years, and Senior Years philosophies – providing evidence of nurturing engaging environments that have deep impact.
Candidates should also be devoted to answering the Calls to Action in the TRC’s report. This means having a solid understanding and plan for answering them in tangible and meaningful ways so that we can begin to decolonize WSD schools. Furthermore, candidates should be crusaders for anti-racism and the inclusion of all learners and the gifts they bring.
