<hr><br><h3>Position Overview<br></h3><p>SPS West is seeking a full-time <b>Welder/Fitter</b> to support in-house fabrication of industrial equipment and assemblies. This role is hands-on and production-focused, requiring strong <b>TIG and MIG welding skills</b> across <b>carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum</b>. Journeyman certification is not required; demonstrated skill, reliability, and pride in workmanship are non-negotiable.<br></p>
<hr><br><h3>Key Responsibilities<br></h3><ul><li><p>Perform <b>TIG and MIG welding</b> on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components<br></p></li><li><p>Fit, tack, and weld parts based on <b>drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions</b><br></p></li><li><p>Fabricate small to medium-sized assemblies, frames, enclosures, and custom components<br></p></li><li><p>Maintain weld quality to internal standards (appearance, penetration, consistency)<br></p></li><li><p>Work collaboratively with shop leads, engineers, and other trades<br></p></li><li><p>Assist with general fabrication tasks as required (cutting, grinding, drilling, assembly)<br></p></li><li><p>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area<br></p></li><li><p>Follow shop safety procedures and quality expectations<br></p></li></ul>
<hr><br><h3>Required Skills & Experience<br></h3><ul><li><p>Strong <b>TIG and MIG welding experience</b> (shop or industrial environment)<br></p></li><li><p>Proven ability to weld:<br></p><ul><li><p>Carbon steel<br></p></li><li><p>Stainless steel<br></p></li><li><p>Aluminum<br></p></li></ul></li><li><p>Ability to <b>read basic fabrication drawings</b> and measurements<br></p></li><li><p>Comfortable fitting parts before welding<br></p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of weld preparation, joint types, and distortion control<br></p></li><li><p>Reliable, punctual, and accountable<br></p></li></ul>
