<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>TITLE: </strong>Advisor, Insurance & Estate Planning<br /><strong>LOCATION: </strong>Calgary, AB<br /><strong>REPORTING:</strong> VP, Insurance & Estate Planning</p><p><br /><strong>JOB PURPOSE: </strong>Why does the role exist? <br />The Advisor, Insurance & Estate Planning role works to develop life insurance sales with both licensed <br />and non-licensed financial advisors. The Associate will have a passion for the life insurance industry <br />specifically as it relates to both financial and advanced planning concepts. The Advisor, Insurance & <br />Estate Planning will be responsible for policies and procedure, reporting, analysis and communication <br />as it pertains to the firm’s insurance business. The role reports to the VP Insurance & Estate Planning.</p><p><br /><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:</strong><br />• Promotes and fosters a culture of compliance throughout the firm. <br />• Promotes the firm’s brand, story and capabilities to our growing network of Integrated Advisory <br />community.<br />• Demonstrates knowledge on the strategic use of life and health insurance.<br />• Builds and develops centers of influence.<br />• Promotes the firm to our Integrated Advisory community and network as an expert in the field <br />of advanced life insurance applications.<br />• Demonstrated experience with tax, legal and continuity planning as it pertains to high net worth <br />clients and their professional advisors.<br />• Implementation of life insurance strategies for high-net-worth individuals and their <br />corporations, under the direction of the VP.<br />• Provides unambiguous, inspired leadership and sound management that establishes credibility <br />and promotes a team culture.<br />• Develops and maintains relationships with the firm, senior team, their financial advisors and <br />their clients.<br />• Reviews client situations and makes appropriate recommendations to financial advisors and/or <br />their clients.<br />• Creates superior and unique client presentations and provides input on marketing strategies.<br />• Participates in the creation of new business submissions. delivering policies and conducting <br />annual reviews.<br />• Attends conferences, seminars and workshops to advance skills and professional development.</p><p><br /><strong>CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS</strong><br />FIRM CONTRIBUTION<br />• Responsible for the achievement of annual sales objectives as set out for the Insurance & Estate <br />Planning Division.<br />• Responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of strategies and initiatives <br />to enhance sales opportunities. <br />• Responsible to adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements as set out by the firm and <br />other regulatory bodies. </p><p><br />CLIENT MANAGEMENT<br />• Relationship manager with our Integrated Advisory community.<br />• Works with the Team Lead, Insurance & Estate Planning to manage company's inforce block of <br />business.</p><p><br />BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT<br />• Provides support to VP Insurance & Estate Planning <br />• Partnering with our accounting partners, financial advisors and associates to provide planning <br />solutions focusing on the strategic uses of insurance as a risk mitigation and planning tool. <br />• Develops and maintains a strong center of influence to promote the company's business model.<br />• Attends and participates in presentations to prospective clients as required.</p><p><br />LEADERSHIP AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT<br />• Demonstrates, emphasizes, promotes and monitors professional and ethical conduct.<br />• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and cohesiveness.<br />• Assists in training, education and professional development for team members.</p><p><br />FINANCIAL & BUSINESS PERFORMANCE<br />• None.</p><p><br /><strong>FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES</strong><br />• A love for the financial services industry, specifically insurance planning and a desire to grow <br />in the field.<br />• Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel, Outlook <br />and PowerPoint.<br />• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.<br />• Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.<br />• Excellent written and oral communication skills<br />• Excellent time management and organizational skills<br />• Detail oriented self-starter, able to jump in and learn quickly<br />• Life long learner<br />• Ability to embrace new opportunities and thrive in a fast paced constantly evolving <br />environment<br />• Accountable to high level of client service with a focus on maintaining and building strong client <br />relationships<br />• Results oriented with demonstrated flexibility<br />• Ability to offer effective and efficient service and solutions</p><p><br /><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br />• College and/or University degree or equivalent.<br />• A minimum of 8-10 years experience in life insurance sales; appropriate combination of <br />education and experience will be considered.<br />• Life and Accident, and Sickness licenses in good standing; familiarity with both life insurance <br />and living benefit concepts.<br />• CFP and CLU designations required with an appetite for ongoing professional development.<br />• Proven track record in insurance sales including underwriting, and advanced planning.</p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
