Associate Lawyer - Litigation

*Overview*<br />Kowarsky & Company is a downtown boutique law firm with a robust and wide-ranging litigation practice that includes commercial litigation, creditor-debtor litigation and collection, family law, and non-ICBC personal injury litigation.<br />*Job Summary*<br />We are looking for an associate with at least three years of experience in civil litigation and/or family law, with trial experience in the Supreme Court of BC. This role will involve working on files in various practice areas including family law and non-ICBC personal injury; <br /> working independently on creditor-debtor files from starting a claim in the Small Claims Court and the Supreme Court of BC and obtaining judgment, to post-judgment enforcement such as garnishment; <br /> and attending chambers application on quasi-criminal matters.<br />*Candidate Requirements*<br />* Have at least 3 years of experience in civil litigation and/or family law, experience with creditor-debtor remedies is an asset.<br />* Have a law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.<br />* Have a warm, friendly personality, the ability to work in a team-based environment, and work professionally under pressure.<br />* Have strong attention to detail and solid work ethics.<br />*Compensation: *Starting from $100,000 per year commensurate with experience; <br /> we are open to discussing a fee-splitting arrangement.<br />*Benefits: *Dental care, extended health care, life insurance, vision care.<br />If interested please send your *CV, cover letter, and salary expectation* to the attention of Mr. Ori Kowarsky.<br />Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<br />Pay: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 per year<br />Benefits:<br />* Dental care<br />* Extended health care<br />* Life insurance<br />* Paid time off<br />* Vision care<br />Work Location: In person
