<h3>Job Overview</h3>
<p>The Healthy and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of health and safety on‑site, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. You will work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to monitor and maintain workplace safety standards, assist in risk management dignity, and ensure the health and safety of all personnel across various departments.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Health and Safety Program Implementation:</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.</li>
<li>Ensure all safety practices and protocols are consistent with company policy, industry standards, and local regulations.</li>
<li>Support the implementation of occupational health and safety risk assessment and controls in alignment with legal and industry requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p>Training and Education:</p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to employees across all levels to ensure awareness of safe work practices, proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and emergency procedures.</li>
<li>Regularly assess the training needs of employees and provide guidance and support for on‑the‑Ainsi‑job training.</li>
<li>Promote safety awareness and best practices throughout the company and foster a safety‑first culture.</li>
</ul>
<p>Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:</p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor and ensure that workplace health and safety practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations).</li>
<li>Maintain a current understanding of industry safety trends and new regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing for and facilitating external audits or inspections from regulatorygemeinschaft.</li>
</ul>
<p>Incident and Accident Reporting:</p>
<ul>
<li>Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, or safety concerns, conducting thorough root cause analysis and documenting findings.</li>
<li>Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address incidents, prevent recurrence, and ensure ongoing safety.</li>
<li>Ensure proper documentation and reporting of workplace incidents as required by law, including tracking of injury and accident statistics.</li>
</ul>
<p>Risk Assessment and Hazard Management:</p>
<ul>
<li>Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace environments to identify hazards and risks that could affect the health and safety of employees.</li>
<li>Work with department manager to implement and monitor the effectiveness of risk controls, safety measures, and mitigation Connection strategies.</li>

<li>Coordinate emergency drills, including fire drills and evacuation procedures, to ensure preparedness for any emergencies.</li>
<li>Act as a key point of contact for safety‑related emergencies and respond appropriately when incidents occur.</li>
</ul>
<p>Safety Monitoring and Reporting:</p>
<ul>
<li>Regularly monitor and report on the overall safety performance of the organization, identifying trends and areas for improvement.</li>

<li>Act as a safety advocate and a learning between employees and management to promote a positive and proactive safety culture.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Desired Skills, Knowledge, Competencies</h3>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to work both autonomously and within a team environment.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, including internal staff, contractors, and regulatory bodies.</li>
<li>University degree in engineering.</li>
<li>NCSO designation (working towards).</li>
<li>3 – 5 years Construction/Major Infrastructure experience.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.</li>
<li>Bilingual: English, Spanish (highly desired).</li>
<li>Ability to develop safety documentation, reports, and maintain accurate records of safety activities.</li>
<li>Experience in safety management, with the ability to implement safety protocols and practices effectively.</li>
<li>Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to analyze incidents and identify root causes.</li>
<li>Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and the ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.</li>
</ul>

<p>40% Office – 60% Field. Rotation to different project sites.</p>
