<p><h3>About the role</h3><p>We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our Contact Billing Team! We are seeking a dedicated professional with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and a background in product management to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our contact billing products, collaborating closely with business and technical teams.</p>
<h3>What you’ll do here</h3>
<h3>Backlog Planning & Health</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define and outline the purpose of epics, collaborating with Business Analysts (BAs) to set development timelines, start, and end dates.</li>
<li>Assign and prioritize backlog items, ensuring alignment with the team’s skills, capacity, and major dependencies.</li>
<li>Conduct story mapping and estimation, entering stories into Jira, and ensuring the backlog is well‑ordered and communicated to stakeholders.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Product and Sprint Management</h3>
<ul>
<li>Focus on the "why" behind each backlog item, understanding its business impact and alignment with the product vision.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Scrum Master to resolve impediments and guide the team toward achieving Release / Sprint goals.</li>
<li>Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and ensure stakeholder communication regarding progress and deadlines.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Team Leadership and Guidance</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead and inspire the team to deliver best‑in‑class products and meet project / deliverable success.</li>
<li>Provide encouragement and guidance to ensure effective and efficient project execution.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Communication and Collaboration</h3>
<ul>
<li>Communicate effectively using appropriate vocabulary to convey ideas clearly, participating actively in discussions and fostering good working relationships.</li>
<li>Collaborate with various teams on the strategy for rolling out new products or features and provide / seek support from peers regarding backlog planning and squad issues.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Adaptability and Change Management</h3>
<ul>
<li>Act as a positive change agent, influencing others to adopt new approaches and demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and evolving environments.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Product Requirements and Quality</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead the evaluation and acceptance of product deliverables, ensuring adherence to acceptance criteria during sprint review.</li>
<li>Mitigate risks by identifying product quality concerns and proposing suitable actions.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Product Vision and Strategy</h3>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with stakeholders to define and validate product vision, strategy, and requirements.</li>
<li>Convey the vision and goals to the team, ensuring alignment with the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and project / program vision.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What you bring to the table</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education & relevant experience will be considered.</li>
<li>Typically requires between 5 and 8 years of experience.</li>
<li>Experience working in product mode and project mode (an asset).</li>
<li>Insurance background (an asset).</li>
<li>CSPO or Product Owner certification (an asset).</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written).</li>
<li>Planning methodology and relevant experience with proven knowledge of Agile methodology.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Jira.</li>
<li>Ability to work on multiple projects in teams or in a matrix environment (multitasking).</li>
<li>For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required because of regular interaction with English‑speaking colleagues across the country.</li>
<li>No Canadian work experience required; however, must be eligible to work in Canada.</li>
<li><b>Important:</b> Working hours are based on Eastern Time Zone.</li>
