At Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and Kamloops Mental Health and Substance Use (KMHSU), you’ll serve as an integral part of the addictions treatment team. You’ll apply your expertise and compassion to help navigate the complexities of addiction, working to transform lives through individualized care and support. As an addictions psychiatrist, you’ll contribute to compassionate, comprehensive care across inpatient, outpatient, community-based and concurrent disorder programs. A focus on culturally safe, equitable access to mental health and addictions support is a priority. You’ll mentor peers and trainees and pursue leadership and professional development opportunities. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments.
• Develop and apply sophisticated treatment strategies and psychosocial interventions.
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to integrate mental health and addiction services with broader health initiatives.
• Provide education to patients, families, and trainees; mentor medical undergraduates, residents, and psychiatry trainees.
• Advocate for harm reduction and a recovery-focused approach to care.

Qualifications

• Medical doctor with board certification/eligibility in psychiatry.
• Experience in addictions psychiatry and multimodal treatment approaches.
• Ability to work across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings; culturally safe care.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
