A relocation allowance for candidates from out of town to assist with moving expenses can be arranged. The Comox Valley offers a wide spectrum of recreational activities and vibrant arts.<br /><br />If this offer piques your interest we would welcome the opportunity to talk further.<br /><br /> Duties <br />As a Veterinary Technologist, your responsibilities will include:<br /><br /> Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia .<br /> Maintaining accurate and timely record keeping<br /> Surgical preparation and patient recovery<br /> Provide sensitive, compassionate and nurturing care to our patients<br /> Procure quality radiology images, both general and dental<br /> Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures<br /> Performing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging , including blood collection, cystocentesis, cytology , etc <br /> Utilizing in house equipment and preparation to send out to lab for analysis<br /> Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians<br /> Collecting and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue<br /> Maintaining medical and surgical supply inventory<br /> Educating pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures<br /> Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment<br /><br /> Skills <br />To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following skills:<br /><br /> Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technology program with certification and license as RVT<br /> Ability to manage and triage simultaneous priorities<br /> Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members<br /> Confident and Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals<br /> The understanding that it is teamwork that provides excellence in care<br /><br />Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals and their owners by applying your skills as a Veterinary Technologist.
