<p>Field Service Engineer (280jc) – Grimsby & Surrounding Areas - £31 – 38k (DOE) + Benefits</p>
<p>Are you a former military technician, mechanic, or engineer looking for a role that values your discipline, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently? <p>This is a role where your military engineering background is genuinely recognised. If you’ve worked with vehicle platforms, plant equipment, armoury, REME workshops, Royal Engineers kit, MT sections, or similar, your experience is highly transferable.</p>
<h3>The Role</h3>
<p>You’ll work across a wide range of material‑handling equipment – from pallet trucks to VNA trucks and automated systems. Your day‑to‑day will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Diagnosing and repairing faults</li>
<li>Performing preventative maintenance</li>
<li>Servicing forklifts and other lifting equipment on customer sites</li>
<li>Carrying out safety checks (oil, fuel, hoses, steering, brakes, electrics)</li>
<li>Providing clear, confident customer communication</li>
<li>Upholding the company’s reputation as a professional and reliable engineer</li>
</ul>
<p>This role suits someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and problem‑solving – very much like life on the ground in technical roles within the forces.</p>
<h3>What They’re Looking For</h3>
<ul>
<li>Strong mechanical engineering background (military experience highly regarded)</li>
<li>Confident working independently or as part of a team</li>
<li>Good communication and time‑management skills</li>
<li>Experience with plant, vehicles, mechanical systems, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery or forklifts is a bonus</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence</li>
</ul>
